Surprise

The very slight summer breeze through the open window
couldn't seem to cure my ailing stomach
when left alone, the sickness overtook all
thoughts of inhibition

but there happens to be a turn in our story now

when he showed up
completely unexpected
with a bouquet in his hands


The trembling due to a lack of food
shakes my feeble frame
which hadn't seem food in over 24 hours

but utter bliss cannot be hid
due to this surprising stranger
who hadn't been seen since colder days

Far too much time had kept us apart
with far too many miles being the culprit

but sitting there in his arms
even though the scorching summer heat engulfs
all breathing space
creates a life complete

for just a short time at least.
