floating, catching, floating, passing

that jagged-cornered letter of the alphabet is always
floating around my head and the
headmasters words aren't catching
into the net of my empty mind
it's just all those jagged Z's floating everywhere

the images aren't being comprehended
they are only passing
why is this always the state of mind?
with eye lids that flirt with other unwantingly
